Initial Consultation

The issues paper supports interested parties and stakeholders to participate in the inquiry into the South Australian Government’s procurement policies and processes.  It highlights the key issues as understood by the Commission, and includes Feedback Requests to develop the Commission’s understanding.

The Commission seeks evidence and experience, as well as views on the matters highlighted in the issues paper. It is also interested to learn of other matters relevant to the terms of reference that may have been misunderstood.

The Commission will publish every submission it receives on its website unless it is determined by the Commission as being confidential, offensive, potentially defamatory, beyond the scope of the inquiry's terms of reference, or an abuse of process.  Confidential submissions are addressed in detail on page 3 of the issues paper.  This approach supports the Commission’s commitment to transparency, and enables other parties interested in the inquiry to consider contributors' views unless there is a valid reason why those views should not be shared beyond the Commission.

Next Steps

Following consideration of initial submissions, the Commission will release a draft report on or before 25 March 2019 detailing evidence, key findings and draft recommendations.  Further consultation to test these findings and to gather additional evidence will follow the draft report’s publication.
